Poultrygeist 2: Dawn of the Chicken, la trama del film

Poultrygeist 2: Dawn of the Chicken è il film comedy e horror in produzione. Si tratta del sequel di Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead (2006) in cui dei polli zombie cercano di uccidere i lavoratori del fast food che li cucinano in un ristorante, costruito sopra un vecchio cimitero.

La trama del sequel non è stata ancora rivelata, ma si concentrerà sempre sugli animali zombie, con un tono "cafone", come ha ammesso la regista Mercedes, alternando effetti speciali, numeri musicali e scene di sangue.

“Venti anni fa, potresti essere sopravvissuto alla notte della morte del pollo, ma non sei ancora pronto per l'alba” dice una voce nel teaser trailer diffuso. Poi delle persone ballano, e si ode il pigolio di diversi polli.

Nel cast ci sono Vada Callisto, che ha recitato in Special Needs Revolt! e Curse of the Weredeer; Mark Torgl, interprete di The Once and Future Smash e The Macabre; Debbie Rochon, già vista in Flesh of the Unforgiven e The Devil's Disciples

La regia è di Mercedes, che ha già diretto Gasmask Girl e Divide & Conquer. Il primo film era diretto da Lloyd Kaufman, che poi lavorò a The Toxic Avenger (1984) e Tromeo and Juliet (1996): costò 500.000 dollari e ne incassò 22.623, ma ebbe un buon successo di critica e nel mercato dvd.

Il film del 2006 era interpretato da Jason Yachanin, che poi lavorò in Supernaturalz: Weird, Creepy & Random e nella serie tv Blue Bloods; Kate Graham, interprete di Io sono tu; Allyson Sereboff (A Place Among the Dead e The Hitchhiker Effect).

La produzione è di Troma Entertainment, che di recente ha prodotto Mutant Blast, The Toxic Avenger, Eating Miss Campbell, Essex Spacebin, PUTA: People for the Upstanding Treatment of Animals, Father's Day, The Taint, Death on the D-List e Return to Nuke 'Em High Volume 1. Il film dovrebbe uscire nel 2026.
