Il film è il remake del film del 1996, The Craft (Giovani streghe) diretto da Andrew Fleming e interpretato da Robin Tunney, Rachel True, Fairuza Balk e Neve Campbell. Stavolta le protagoniste sono Michelle Monaghan, Cailee Spaeny, David Duchovny, La regia è di Zoe Lister-Jones, che la lavorato come attrice a Life in Pieces e New Girl.
