Il 12 luglio sono annunciate le nomination agli Emmy Awards 2022. Per la sezione drama, concorrono Better Call Saul,
Euphoria, Ozark, Scissione, Squid Game, Stranger Things, Succession, Yellowjackets. Per la comedy, Abbott Elementary, Barry, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Hacks, La fantastica signora Maisel, Only Murders in the Building, Ted Lasso, What We Do in the Shadows. 

Per il miglior attore in un drama , sono candidati Jason Bateman, Brian Cox, Lee Jung-jae, Bob Odenkirk, Adam Scott, Jeremy Strong; per l'attrice, Jodie Comer, Laura Linney, Melanie Lynskey, Sandra Oh, Reese Witherspoon, 
Zendaya. Per il miglior attore in una comedy, Donald Glover, Bill Hader, Nicholas Hoult, Steve Martin, Martin Short e 
Jason Sudeikis; per l'attrice, Rachel Brosnahan, Quinta Brunson, Kaley Cuoco, Elle Fanning, Issa Rae e Jean Smart.

Per la miniserie, Dopesick, Inventing Anna, Pam & Tommy, The Dropout, The White Lotus. Per il film tv, Cip & Ciop agenti speciali, Lo straordinario Natale di Zoey, Ray Donovan: The Movie, Reno 911!, The Hunt for QAnon, The Survivor. La cerimonia, organizzata dall'Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (ATAS), si svolgerà il  12 settembre 2022.

Gli Emmy Awards si sono svolti il 17 settembre 2018 al Microsoft Theatre di Hollywood, a Los Angeles.  La Migliore Serie Drama è  Game of Thrones (leggi l’intervista all’attrice).

La Serie Comedy migliore è The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, mentre quella Limitata è  The Assassination of Gianni Versace.

L’attrice migliore in una serie drammatica è Claire Foy per The Crown, in una comedy è Rachel Brosnahan sempre per Marvelous Mrs. Maisel (che ottiene anche il premio per la sceneggiatura), in una serie limitata è
Regina King per Seven Seconds.

Il miglior attore è Matthew Rhys per The Americans, in una comedy è Bill Hader per Barry, in una serie limitata è Jeff Daniels per Godless.

Thandie Newton vince come attrice non protagonista per Westworld, Peter Dinklage, per Game of Thrones. Il reality migliore è Queer Eye, l’episodio singolo è "USS Callister” di Black Mirror: entrambi sono di Netflix.

Le serie televisive con più nominations alla 69ª edizione della cerimonia di premiazione dei Primetime Emmy Awards sono “Westworld - Dove tutto è concesso” (22 nominations), “Stranger Things” e “Feud” (entrambe con 18 nominations).
